In addition to our main service on Sunday evenings, we have short “Thursday Church” services of Morning and Midday Prayer. On alternating Wednesday nights, we sing a Virtual Compline service together.
All services are currently being held online only.
We are working on plans to be able to resume in-person services in the Brent House chapel, following the state, local, diocesan, and University guidelines for gatherings. So that everyone can be included, we will continue to provide for online participation for the forseeable future.
Evening Prayer with sermon and communal reflection, Brent House style.
We would normally have communion at our Sunday service. In keeping with guidence from our bishop, the University, and public safety officials, we are currently abstaining from the eucharist out of our commitment to the good of the entire community.
Join us for Compline, a meditative service of prayer for the end of the day. Prayed daily for over 1,500 years, Compline invites us to set aside our daily stresses for a moment of peace, replete with darkness and light, sound and silence.
We sing Compline together over Zoom. If you’re interested in helping to lead the singing, we’d love to have you—no experience necessary! Just email email@example.com. There’s no long-term commitment, and there are a variety of ways to get involved, big and small.
Note that we sing Compline every other week: see brenthouse.philipmcgrath.com for the schedule.
A short time of prayer to get you grounded for the day ahead.
Just before the service, you might want to join us for 20 Minutes Still, a quiet interfaith meditation for the whole University, which Stacy (our chaplain) leads on Thursdays.
A short time of prayer inspired by A New Zealand Prayer Book: get grounded; reconnect; and breathe.
