Full-Time Youth and Children’s Ministry Coordinator Position in Ontario

To help achieve this vision we are looking for a Youth and Children’s Ministry Coordinator who is dedicated to developing, nurturing and supervising children’s and youth ministry that supports and strengthens their journey of faith and practice.
Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop congregational systems, support structures and programs for children and youth Christian formation that are dynamic, relevant, missional and fun!
- Integrate children and youth into the broader life of the church as a bridge builder between age groups, the church and the community of Aurora.
- Equip and mentor leadership skills for Christian service in both adults and young people.
- Build a senior youth program that fosters the development of maturing, Christian, global citizens.
- Recruit, supervise, support, train and resource the leaders of the Church School, junior and senior youth ministry programs.
- Develop and manage the Youth Program budget.
- Attend youth ministry training, formation and networking events.
- Attend leadership meetings, Sunday worship, and be available for evening meetings, weekends and for holy festivals.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Post-secondary training or equivalent with formal theological studies.
- Able to work effectively within a mainline Anglican spiritual ethos.
- Relates to youth and their families in a friendly, respectful and joyful manner; loves youth and takes joy in their growth and development
- Working knowledge of child/adolescent development and youth culture.
- Proven successful experience working with children and teens in a Christian setting.
- Passionate about youth ministry and able to articulate and model a maturing personal Christian faith.
- Able to recruit, equip and support adult/parent volunteers to cultivate a team environment.
- Passionate about building a caring community and willing to network effectively with other churches, agencies, faith groups, diverse backgrounds and special needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
10. Strong computer and social networking skills will be an asset.
The Youth and Children’s Ministry Coordinator will minister according to established policies, practices and guidelines of the diocese and parish. The Youth and Children’s Ministry Coordinator will function within a pastoral team, equivalent to an Associate Priest and will report to the incumbent.
The starting salary for this position is $40,000 plus pension and health benefits. Please submit a resume, 3 references, vision statement and portfolio of youth programs either designed or implemented.
